What should President Obama do about Afghanistan?

  1. the general in question should be court-marshalled and thrown out of the military :
    COUNT ( 1) .INSUBORDINATION -TO A COMMANDER IN CHIEF (2) putting classified documents in the media ( troop levels) :
    open harrsament of of a U.S. President is a very serious crime and gives this citizen grave concern if MEDIA-BLACKMAIL WAS AN UNDERLYING reason to place this issue before the WhiteHouse and the entire world media including the enemy

  2. Recently, there are people in the media comparing Afghanistan to Vietnam. As a Vietnam veteran (3rd Marines, 9th Marines Division) I would like to compare the troops today to the troops who fought in Vietnam. First of all, the troops today are at least five times worse off than the troops who fought in Vietnam. The reasoning is simple, today's troops are ordered to go on four and five tours to war zones. During the Vietnam war, troops who went on more than one tour to Vietnam was highly specialized or volunteered. The troops today go on four and five tours to war zones are ordered to do so; and if they show any reluctance, their careers are ruined.

    The real life horrendous disservice America is doing to our troops today, is this stupidness that we must fight on until victory is achieved without giving the troops any idea what victory is. These are the people who come to rallies shouting, "USA, USA!" tying ribbons around trees, who are all for war as long as they, or their loved ones don't have to do any of the fighting. I call these people paper tigers who are cowards.

  3. the first time I blogged on this I called for the generals termmination from this assignment :
    I retain that assesment but the 60,000 troops needed just may be an under-statement :
    1 million may be the bare miniumn since additional news leaks were more fourth comming :
    “about 4,000 fighters, mostly from Chechnya, North Africa and Pakistan “have joined with them and they are involved in the fighting in Afghanistan” this could widden the war :
    The chechnya involvement tells me the Caspean sea is involved because of OIL concerns :the (CFR)- Rich ARE DEMANDING WE GET INVOLVED ;
    President Obama, has a difficult decession to make
    no wonder he is taking his time to hear from all sides in his Intelligence Community :
    War for oil or over the U.S. dollar is suffucient grounds to go Into Battle it always has been…….THE PROBLEM IS THE Republicans left us Broke and pennyless and wasted our good
    weapons -we would need 40 billlion just to arm our present day ships and air warfare and thats a low figure:
    just what are we getting out of all this??????????????
    this nation is on food stamps and were “exploding” our resources- all over seas …throw in the – health care industry together this is beating this nation in the ground …….
    The President is right on the money to recieve more information and to think not re-act :
    he is thinking with a clear head !!

  4. He may want to take a page out of China's book, after all they (China) seemed to have no problem finding Tibet & subduing them. And since we're now A Chinese satellite,(they pay our bills) Why the heck not? No, really, I say we get the heck out and put a guard on the Pakistan installation. Then work on asking India & Pakistan to opt for a more conventional method of threating each other.

  5. lets let the President decided when and where we place our troops ;
    it is the President who has to go to bed at night knowing how many men were killed that day its a lot to put on his plate ,since he ordered them into war; another George bush, reminder of War crazzy people who decided we should fight , with ground troops and not selective Air Strikes !!!!
